Garden of the Giants is a hybrid of nature and artifice that integrates the complexity of its environment and tells a story:87 communes, or giants, reclaims a parking lot to find a magical garden, witnessing the history of a region and its desire for transformation. The giants, a reference to the myth of those who inhabited the Nord/Pas de Calais region, founders and protectors of the cities, inhabit and protect the garden. The water, the guiding thread, offers 3 contrasting landscapes with various activities:(1)Parvis des nuages, a public space, connects the center, the Euralille train station, and the Saint Maurice Pellevoisin district; (2) the grass of the giants plunges walkers into an abundance of nature and allows them to isolate themselves from the urban environment; and (3) the Garden of the Springs, slightly recessed, runs through plant structures and highlights local culture and enchantment.
