Pipe & tube shipments through August 2021 were 8.1m tons which compares unfavorably to last year by about 1.2m tons or about 12.7%. Energy product shipments were off by 23.6% or 836k tons while construction and manufacturing product shipments fell by 245k tons or 4.6%. Domestic shipments for the same period fell by 19.3% while imports grew by 4.6%. Import market share increased to 33.8% for the eight-month period from 27.8% last year through August.
