Ford begins F-150 EV production

Automaker Ford Motors began production of its F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, a key ofering in its electric vehicle (EV) plans. Production began at the Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michi- gan. The plant is targeting a model capacity of 150,000 vehicles/yr by 2023. Ford sold 726,004 internal combustion F-Series trucks in 2021, which represented 38pc of the com- pany’s total sales in that year.
