The Fertiliser Association of India(FAI),New Delhi organized a webinar on"Key Areas of Fertihzer Sector"on 8th March,2021.The webinar was inaugurated by Mr.Satish Chander,Director General(DG)FAI,New Delhi.Dr.S.Nand,Deputy Director General(DDG),FAI,New Delhi was also present.The webinar was attended by 202 participants from twenty organizations.In his inaugural address,DG,FAI stated that 2020-21 has been a very eventful year full of challenges due to COVID-19.While updating the participants regarding production,import and sale of fertilizers during the current year,he mentioned that the production of all major fertilizers except DAP showed an increase of 3.5% in kharif 2020 compared to kharif 2019.However,there was slowdown in production during October 2020 to February 2021.Production of NP/NPKs continued to increase significantly.But production of DAP and urea declined during second half of the year.He further added that for the first 11 months i.e.April 2020 to February,2021,total production of all fertilizers showed an increase of 2.0% over the same period last year.Production of DAP declined by 14.2% during the period.
