Invenergy seeks FERC technical conference on merchant HVDC transmission lines

Invenergy Transmission LLC is urging the Federal Energy RegulatoryCommission to explore the benefits of interregional, high-voltagedirect-current transmission lines built by merchant developers as theagency advances multiple rulemakings aimed at boosting U.S. gridreliability.The Invenergy LLC subsidiary asked FERC to convene a technicalconference (AD22-13) on the matter a day before members of a jointfederal-state transmission task force expressed support for the idea ofrequiring a minimum level of interregional transmission capacity.
