Cuboid explosives are usually offered in the military and civilian market. Whilst, the plates are widely used in engineering structures. Plates subjected to blast loads generated by cuboid explosives were numerically investigated in this study. The LS-DYNA was used to create the numerical models, which were then validated using experimental data. The height-to-length ratio (h/a) was used to define the shape of the cuboid explosives in the study, and the effects of h/a on dynamic responses and plate damage were explored. The maximum displacement of the center point and the global damage level of plates increased as the h/a decreased. When the identical mass explosives were utilized, the deformation geometries of stiffened and unstiffened plates were remarkably correlated to the h/a of the explosives. Cuboid explosives with significant h/a can cause an inner dome in the plate, and the smaller the h/a, the smoother the deformation. The bottom length (a) of the explosive had a significant impact on the deformation shapes. Explosives with the same bottom length may lead to similar deformation shapes.& nbsp;Finally, the study aimed to equivalent cuboid explosives (1/4 = h/a = 4) to cubic explosives (h/a = 1) with the same mass. The equivalent cubic shape coefficients (eta(i)) of the cuboid explosives were evaluated and calculated using the maximum central displacements and damage level as indexes. Furthermore, the study presented four coefficients (eta(1)-eta(4)), and the applicability of the coefficients was demonstrated through instances.
