摘要

Yemen as a country has consistently ranked very low in the Global Gender Gap Index according to the World Economic Forum. It ranked second to last in the Index in 2021 (UNDP n.d.) and multiple sources find it to be one of the worst countries in the world for women. This results from the lingering chaotic crises and tension in the country, alongside the generationally established gender inequality. The aforementioned reasons have led to far from ideal conditions for Yemeni women, whose mental health is deteriorating as the conflict escalates. Strategic intervention is needed to target these causative factors to improve the living standards for the women in Yemen, in order to give them some sort of relief and help improve their mental health.
