Farmer's perception on agromet advisory bulletin as received, biweekly (Tuesday & Friday) under Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa scheme by District Agromet Unit, Baramulla is retrieved through online Google sheet mode and verbal mode for the year 2020-21 (All crop season). The study was conducted to note the impact of agro-weather based bulletins issued for 26 blocks of the district of Kashmir region on farming community. The main aim of study was to assess the education level of farmer, whether the advisories are readable or not, landholdings, crops to be sown for the season as rainfed or irrigated manner, most suited medium for weather information, farm operation for which advisories are in use and the weather event most important for farm operation. During the study the type of farming in major, practice by farmers was also analysed and the average percentage of production lost during the crop season due to bad weather were recorded to manage the crop risks during farming operations. The study indicated that the farmers benefitting from advisories consigned for SMS (IVRS) and Whatsapp as most suited medium of dissemination; major effective use of advisories were acknowledged during chemical and fertilizer application, rainfall and snowfall were collectively considered as most important event to monitor during the farm operations. The AAB emerged as a valuable contact medium for technology transfer regarding weather based crop information. AAB make available the timely and accurate weather predictionwith information on intercultural operations, seeds, varieties, chemicals use. The AAB resulted very helpful for the farmers in managing certain extreme weather events in advance to avoid the crop loss and for better sustainable crop growth and planning.
