Balanced support sought for Northern Ireland sheep sector

Summer recess in July means there is little activity in the agricultural department - but as we enter August things will resume. The Future of Agriculture policy document has been published here in Northern Ireland (NI). Unfortunately, there was little mention of the sheep sector compared to the suckler cow and beef sector. NSA has shared its concerns with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) and, working with the Ulster Farmers Union (UFU), will continue to seek similar assurances for the sheep sector.
