摘要

Being a prime movers, Diesel Engines have been a major part of different automobiles, generators etc. Intake manifold plays an important role to decide inward characteristics of air. So, this paper has primarily covered the required modifications to be done in design of intake manifold of 3-cylinder diesel engines to increase intake air flow to improve engine performance & volumetric efficiency. As volumetric efficiency cannot be calculated directly as mass flow rates for every modification cannot be measured physically, 1-D CFD Code by using GT-POWER as tool is used to determine overall performance and volumetric efficiency and optimal solution for dimensions is provided at end. Experimental results of current design are also compared.
