A Private Members' Bill to extend paid leave for people who have experienced a miscarriage is scheduled to have its second reading in the House of Commons on 3 December 2021. Introduced by Scottish National Party MP Angela Crawley, the Bill would enable both parents to take three days' paid leave following a miscarriage. Speaking in the House of Commons, Crawley said: 'Only last year bereavement legislation was introduced that entitles parents who lose a baby after 24 weeks to two weeks' paid bereavement leave. However, there is currently no provision in place for parents who lose a baby before 24 weeks.
