That said, a template for developing a clear, concise and easy-to-understand compliance management system for air permitting can be set up using only Word and Excel in a way that can mitigate the risk of fines and facilitates state inspections. The process can be copied for water and waste regulations. Typical equipment across district energy systems includes boilers, emergency generators, heaters and cooling towers. Air permitting rules can be complex, but most systems will have standard equipment and thus be subject to common requirements. In most situations, this means even novices - with the help of a simple software combination, Word and Excel-can understand and follow rules that apply to their plant.
