Sales of new electric vehicles during the second quarter of the year shot up 48.4 over the same time in 2022, according to Cox Automotive. However, the large, global automotive services and technology provider warned that "hard-growth days are ahead." A record-setting 295,042 fully electric vehicles were sold during Q2, compared to 199,848 sold during the same quarter last year, according to Kelley Blue Book data. Most of those cars were made by Tesla Inc., which sold 175,262 vehicles during the quarter, a 34.8 increase from sales seen last year. Tesla controlled 60.5 of the new EV market.
