Russia halts gas flows to Poland and Bulgaria

RUSSIAN energy giant Gazprom announced on Tuesday that it will halt gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria because both European Union nations have failed to pay in Russian currency, the ruble, in line with demands made by the Kremlin. Poland and Bulgaria are the first countries to have their gas cut off by Europe's main supplier since Moscow invaded Ukraine on 24 February.
