Green gram, Vigna radiata, is one of the cheapest sources of protein for poor Indian households. Green gram productivity is limited by the attack of sucking pests like whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius); thrips, Megalurothrips distalis (Karny) and jassids, Empoasca kerri (Pruthi). The study was conducted at Instructional Farm, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, during summer season of 2018 to evaluate the relative efficacy and residual toxicity of selected insecticides against sucking pests of green gram. Among the ten insecticides tested, thiomethoxam + X-cyhalothrin, imidacloprid and triazophos proved to be most effective in controlling jassid, whitefly and thrips population.The imidacloprid remained toxic till 18 DAS and recorded 14.3 and13.5% mortality of exposed whitefly and thrips population, respectively. The relative persistent toxicity of the exposed insecticides was in the order, imidacloprid >thiomethoxam + X-cyhalothrin >triazophos >flonicamid >X-cyhalothrin >profenophos + cypermethrin >chlorantraniliprole >spinosad >profenophos.
