We’ve been writing monthly about some kind of expected Federal infrastructure plan since May. That doesn’t include the numerous comments on that topic, but less specific, before that. The bi-partisan Bill has been passed by the Senate but progressive House members want a much more expensive social infrastructure Bill to pass at the same time. Moderates are pushing passage of the bi-partisan measure but by the time it is all sorted out, we may be on the verge of winter. Either way, we are sounding like a broken record. We spend time on this because all our clients, tube producers and end users, tell us that once the spending starts the big problem will be finding people to do the job. Delays make it tough to commit on adding people for all kinds of reasons; not knowing what type of work will be required is the foremost.
