This paper presents a design of high gainwideband antenna with metasurface for sub-6 GHz applications.The antennas at sub-6 GHz have a narrowbandwidth and low gain with a narrower axial ratio(AR). Hence, antennas combined with metamaterialsare proposed to overcome these issues. The proposedmetasurface antenna is designed with the implementationof W-shape transmission lines within the vias. Theproposed antenna with metasurface is simulated usingCST software and then fabricated on the FR4 substratewith (εr = 4.4 and h = 1.6 mm). The antenna performanceachieved a wide bandwidth of 85 and operatesat 2 GHz to 5 GHz. A compact size of 45 is achievedwith a high gain of 7.12 dB. The proposed antenna issuitable to be used in future sub-6 GHz applications.
