T Local anesthesia by drugs mixed with epinephrine may induce rare adverse reactions and inhibit healing. Holstein and native breed cows were referred for cesarean surgery due to large size fetus and uterine torsion diagnosed by vaginal and rectal examination. Left flank was anesthetized 2-3ml/cm~2 with 2% lidocaine and 80mug/ml norepinephrine. After surgery, cows were returned 7-13 days with extensive skin necrosis at left flank and L block site. Affected skin was washed with sterile saline daily for 5 days and cows injected penicillin-streptomycin IM daily 7 days. Cases healed by 24 days but findings suggests that only 1% norepinephrine should be used if diluted in lidocaine or saline.
