摘要

Two species of the subgenus Episolindelia of the genus Eupelmus (Hymenoptera: Eupelmidae) are reported from Japan, namely, E. (Episolindelia) australiensis (Girault, 1913) and E. (Episolindelia) testaceiventris (Motschulsky, 1863). The formerspecies is recognized from mainland Japan for the first time, whereas the latter species is recorded from the fauna of Japan for the first time.Episolindelia Girault is a subgenus of the genus Eupelmus Dalman, established by Gibson (1995). The subgenus is known from all biogeographical regions. The center of species diversity and abundance is assumed in the Old world (Gibson, 1995, 2011). Although the exact species number is unknown, it comprises at least 30 described species in the world (Gibson, 1995) and Gibson & Fusu (2016) recognized 14 species from the Palaearctic region. Park et al. (2017) reported E. (Episolindelia) australiensis (Girault) from Liancourt Rocks, the small islets in the Sea of Japan. The islets are also known as Take-shima or Dokdo, whileSouth Korea controls the islets, its sovereignty over them is contested by Japan. Anyway, there has been no record of E. (Episolindelia) from mainland Japan.
