In this article, a novel hybrid spectrum-slicing wavelength division multiplexing (SSWDM)-mode division multiplexing (MDM) undertransparent water medium has been designed and its performance is investigated. The system generates the 40 independent of 2.5 Gbps data signals over underwater medium using a single laser beam by deploying the proposed SS-WDM-MDM based UOWC link. It features that each 2.5 Gbps will be intended for spectrum slicing here, 4 spectrum is slice from the single input spectrum. The effect of the proposed link UOWC on three distinct types of water medium-the open sea, the clear ocean, and the coastal ocean is also analyzed and it could be possible by obtaining the attenuation constant. The respective results are analyzed with function of link distance, BER, Q-factor. The performance characteristics is studied for the wavelength of 550-1550 nm.
