Research Beyond the Boundaries of 'Technology' Cognitive Science that Connects Devices with Content

Although the primary focus of NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories (STRL) can be summed up as technical research, interdisciplinary research efforts involving peripheral fields that support both technical and nontechnical research fields are also important for realizing "richer media of the future". With this point in mind, this article provides an introduction to research beyond the boundaries of "technology".
