UP to five leading international contracting players or groups are competing for a key contract involving further expansion of Saudi Aramco's giant Safaniyah and Abu Safah offshore fields. The contractors eyeing the most recent offshore offering from the Saudi state-owned company are part of Aramco's coveted long-term agreement (LTA) grouping, which competes for all of the country's offshore brown-field and maintenance contracts.
