With a fresh corporate brand and a new nickel mine approval under his belt, Panoramic Resources managing director Peter Harold has a spring in his step. A few months ago his Perth-based group touched a 1 billion dollar market capitalisation, marking it as another home-grown nickel sulphide success story. Then, last month, the group ditched the seven-year-old Sally Malay name to trade as Panoramic. Meanwhile its namesake nickel mine in the Kimberley became Savannah. The rebranding was a conciliatory gesture to the relatives of Sally Malay, an Aboriginal-Afghan stockman who worked in the Kimberley and died in 1989.
