After the Euroguss 2020 trade fair, the die-casting industry has been heavily affected by the ongoing disruptions caused by the Covid pandemic. The die-casting industry is increasingly calling on governments to establish clear and reliable conditions for the future, especially in view of the planned climate goals in Europe. All markets were significantly impacted by the Covid pandemic in 2020. Vehicle manufacturing as the primary customer of the diecasting industry registered the lowest production volume in 45 years, with a drop of 25%. While the impact on mechanical engineering as another customer sector was not as extreme, production was still down 14% , the sharpest decline since the financial crisis in 2008/09.
