摘要

Safe Drive Stay Alive, a driver awareness programme run by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, returned to Chichester College last month and was delivered to more than 3,000 students. As part of the relaunch which ties in with Road Safety Week, students were able to answer road safety questions throughout the show using interactive tools on their phones. The survey found that 82 per cent of students felt they had learnt more about road safety because of the show. Nicki Peddle, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service's Head of Prevention, said: "I am delighted that Safe Drive Stay Alive is back for its 16th year with a brand-new format to make it even more interactive with the audience. "The show explores the consequences of being involved in a collision and is aimed specifically at young people who are at the age where they are either learning to drive, have just passed their test, or are becoming passengers with their friends who are already driving. "During the pandemic we created a digital version of the show to ensure its educational messages still reached young people, but it is great to be back running the shows face-to-face for the first time since 2019. I'd like to say a huge thanks to Chichester College for the incredible support they have provided in the running of the shows."
