摘要

The plane tree still stands tallDesigned by MoDus Architects, the new tourist office in the South Tyrolean town of Bressanone/Brixen stands out with its bold use of concave walls, while at the same time, establishing a new relationship with a monumental plant and the public space. The master's spell An "unforeseeable destiny" continues to intertwine the career path of the architecture firm MoDus Architects based in South Tyrol with the work of Othmar Barth. In fact, it was the architect from Bressanone/Brixen, who died ten years ago - one of the most innovative designers in South Tyrol in the second half of the 20th century, he was also a professor at the University of Innsbruck - who produced two of the works with which Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol, founders of MoDus Architects in 2000, have recently been engaging with a different approach. Based in Bressanone/ Brixen, the studio won the invitation-only competition, launched in 2016, to design the new headquarters of the city's Tourist Information Office. Building it, involved demolishing the structure that Barth had designed with similar purposes back in 1968. In 2017, however, MoDus Architects were also awarded the contract, put out to tender, to renovate and expand the Cardinal Nikolaus Cusanus Academy.
