China’s imports of high sulphur crude may have risen by as much as 630,000 b/d in October from September, to 7mn b/d. Key Mideast Gulf producers, such as Saudi Arabia’s state-con-trolled Saudi Aramco and Kuwait’s KPC raised ofcial formula prices in August for cargoes loading in September and arriving in China in October. Chinese buyers were happy to pay up, in anticipation of higher demand as construction resumed after after a summer heatwave.
