THE latest entrant to the Australian hard rock underground mining vehicle market is to be launched at Mount Cotton, near Brisbane, Queensland. Called the Minerunner, it sports a four-wheel all hydraulic drive system is a key feature of the vehicle, with a number of flow-on efficiencies being realised. The elimination of traditional brakes, differential and transmission systems from the vehicle is a major benefit of the hydraulic system, cutting down maintenance costs in a harsh environment.
