OSLO-listed geophysical player TGS plans to acquire a fresh 3D seismic survey in the prolific Santos basin offshore Brazil. The company, through its subsidiary Spectrum Geo, submitted environmental studies to federal regulator Ibama to apply for a licence to shoot a 3D programme encompassing 17,472 square kilometres in Santos. The non-proprietary survey in the southern portion of the Santos basin will cover an area including the Bumerangue pre-salt block and is expected to last from June to December.
