President Joe Biden’s administration has set up a methane emissions reduction taskforce to focus on efforts to detect leaks and enforce regulations.The US is working to a goal of cutting global methane emissions by 30pc by 2030,with much of its cut coming from domestic oil and gas firms.It says the industry’s emissions can be curbed at comparatively low costs compared with other top sources,such as livestock.
