From April this year, it will be possible to fly as a passenger in Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb BE505 -the world's only two-seat example of the iconic fighter. Originally built in 1942 by Canadian Car & Foundry Company, it served with the RCAF during World War Two. Subsequently, it was restored to stock fighter-bomber configuration, and has since been transformed into a unique two-seater by Suffolk's Hawker Restorations Ltd. The fighter is today operated by Hurricane Heritage, based at White Waltham in Berkshire. The company's James Brown said: "Our aim is to continue preserving the legacy of the Hawker Hurricane and the brave pilots who flew her for future generations to respect, admire and enjoy." Hurricane Heritage is also the custodian of a second Hurricane, Battle of Britain veteran Mk.I R4118.
