US, EU extend mutual recognition pact to GMP inspections for vet drugs

The US-EU mutual recognition agreement (MRA) for pharmaceutical good manufacturing practices (GMP) is being expanded to include inspections of veterinary pharmaceuticals. The original MRA entered into force in 2017 but only covered human pharmaceuticals. The US FDA and the European Commission had previously agreed to work towards extending the scope of the MRA to veterinary products.
