On-site Report / Southeast Asia’s Sole Special Steel Wire Rod Rolling Mill, Kobelco Millcon Steel / Completed Acquisition of Quality-related Approvals, Entering ‘Sales Expansion Phase’

‘Kobelco Millcon Steel (KMS, headquartered in Rayong)’ is Southeast Asia’s sole special steel wire rod rolling mill in Thailand. In November 2022 Kobe Steel raised their stake in KMS to 75 and KMS has been pursuing expanding their business to further strengthen their special steel wire rod business. We were given an opportunity to visit the site, and in this 2-part series we will publish a plant report and an article interviewing CEO Mr. Shinichi Yasuki.
