Looking back on history, steam engines, electricity, and railroads have been widely accepted into society over a long duration. General purpose technologies fundamentally change the way social economies work. In today's world, information and communication technologies drive such fundamental changes. In the second half of the 20th century, computers and the internet brought about the third industrial revolution. Now, the fourth industrial revolution is being sparked by IoT, AI, and 5G. The advent of technologies beyond 5G (6G) will lead to further innovation in the 2030s. The key to a better future in the 2030s to 2040s is "Human-oriented information systems." This concept of information systems aims to contribute to the growth and sense of worth among diverse people, as well as the resolution of organizational and social issues. In this presentation, she discussed human-oriented information systems, focusing on examples from northern part of Europe and Japan.
