? 2022 Elsevier B.V.The cyclic oxidation of WC-Ni3Al composites with different WC content and Ni3Al alloy in air at 900 °C for 104 h was studied. WC-Ni3Al composite with a volume content of WC particles of 18% had a higher resistance to oxidation than that of Ni3Al alloy without tungsten carbide particles. In the oxidation process, the loose oxide scale is formed on Ni3Al alloy surface leading to degradation of surface oxide film. Cyclic oxidation results in a formation of continuous denser scale layer without delamination of product oxide layer on the surface of WC-Ni3Al composite with WC particles content of 18%. WC-Ni3Al composite with WC particles content of 31% has the lowest resistance to oxidation, which leads to an increase in the sample mass due to the formation of oxidation products.
