NORWAY has a new energy minister following a Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store this week. Terje Lien Aasland takes over the portfolio from Marte Mjos Persen, who has become Labour Minister. Former labour minister Hadia Tajik resigned due to a controversy related to tax issues dating back to 2005. The switch comes less than five months after Mjos Persen was appointed energy minister in October 2021, following autumn's general election. Born in the town of Skien in 1965, Aasland has been a member of parliament for more than 16 years and is a long-standing member of the parliament's Energy & Environment Committee.
