Turning challenges into opportunities

Each December, the farmers, processors and administrators gather in Melbourne for the dairy industry annual general meeting. But with Dairy Australia yet to have been in operation a year, last year's AGM was replaced with an information day, to reporton its progress so far. The AGM will return in 2004. Speaking at the 2003 Dairy Information Day in Melbourne last December, he outlined what Dairy Australia would do to meet these challenges. He said that as a result of the merging of the Dairy Research and Development Corporation and the Australian Dairy Corporation the industry had an organisation with a broader range of skills, and was able to respond to industry challenges in a much more co-ordinated and integrated manner.
