BASF Finalizes Purchase of 49.5 Stake In New European Offshore Wind Farm

Antwerp— BASF has completed the €300-million acquisition of a 49.5 interest in Vattenfall's offshore wind farm, Hol-landse Kust Zuid, currently being built in the Dutch North Sea (PCN, 28 June 2021, p 2). Once fully operational in 2023, the wind farm will be the "largest" offshore wind farm in the world with a total installed capacity of 1.5 gigawatts, BASF noted. It will allow BASF to supply renewable electricity to its Antwerp Verbund site and several other European production sites.
