Argentina has started sending crude exports to Chile via the pipeline for the fi rst time in 17 years, fueled by rising production in theVaca Muerta Shale. Argentine state oil company YPF and Chilean fi rm Enap earlier in May signed a deal to send about 41,000 barrels per day for 45 daysduring this month and next, with an eye toward paving the way for a longer-term relationship. Volumes could ramp up as high as70,000 b/d by year-end and up to the Transandino pipeline's fully capacity of 110,000 b/d by 2024, YPF CEO Alejandro Lew toldinvestors last week.
