Facile synthesis of self-supported WO_3/PANI hybrid photocatalyst for methylene blue degradation under visible light

摘要

We designed a hybrid film structure comprised of polyaniline (PANI) and WO3, which favors photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue under visible light irradiation. PANI and TiO2 were prepared the same way for comparison purposes. The results showed that WO3/PANI showed an 88.3 degradation of methylene blue in 3 h, which is about 49 and 26 higher than that of TiO2/PANI and pristine WO3. Besides, WO3/PANI can be reused for 5 times without greatly losing activity. In this work, we demonstrate a very effective improvement of photocatalytic activity of WO3 by compositing with PANI.
