Developed for electronic warfare (EW) systems, Teledyne RF & Microwave offers a family of three tunable notch filters that use its patented shunt yttrium iron garnet (YIG) technology. Because YIG spheres have such high Q, Tele-dyne's YIG filters achieve "super notch" performance: greater rejection over a narrower bandwidth than other notch filters, including competing YIG filters.
