The Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia has taken delivery of Bell P-63E Kingcobra 42-11728 and Beech C-45H Expediter 52-10893. Both aircraft were previously at the National Museum of the US Air Force (NMUSAF) in Dayton, Ohio. The 1945-built Kingcobra did not serve in World War Two, but was instead used by Bell for trials, acquiring the US civil registration N41964 in February 1946. It was one of five supplied to the Fuerza Aerea Hondurena (Honduran Air Force) in October 1948; all survive in some form, with sister ship 42-11727 currently at the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona. The Warner Robins machine was used as a spares source in Honduras, following a landing accident, and was returned to Bell in 1957. Donated to the NMUSAF the following year, it was eventually repainted to resemble a brightly decorated RP-63, though it was never fully converted to this variant. The C-45H is due to join the Kingcobra at its new home and is expected to be delivered in a USAF C-17 Globemaster.
