According to Mayr and Ashlock (1991) 'Taxonomy is the theory and practice of classifying organisms'. The task of taxonomists is to classify organisms into different groups after possession of attributes (Mayr and Ashlock 1991) of characters which help to delimit different groups of organisms. A wrong identification creates problems to the geneticists, cell biologists, ecologists, and policymakers in conservation biology that results in the instability in biological research. A single organism should have a single generic and specific name. The nomenclature of organisms shall be made after the rules set by the International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature, one of the main purposes of nomenclatural Code is to have a single stable name for each species (Wright 2015) but it is difficult to achieve stability and singularity in case of small insects like chironomids.
