The luminescent chemosensor properties of Eu(III) dibenzoylmethanate with caproic acid have been revealed. It has been shown that the interaction of the Eu(III) chelate with ammonia vapor leads to an increase in the luminescence intensity of the complex. The experimentally determined limit of detection for ammonia was 3 ppm. The reversibility of the optical response has been established. The resulting chemosensor composition with the luminescence switching effect under the action of the analyte is promising for environmental monitoring.
