Russia's January Gas Output Rises

Despite a sharp drop in pipeline gas exports to Europe in January, Russia's natural gas production increased during the month, driven by strong domestic demand and the ramp-up of Gazprom Neft's new Arctic Oelds. Russia produced a total of 69.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January, up 2% on the same month of last year, according to preliminary data from the energy ministry.
