PETROBRAS has issued a tender to charter large highly specialised vessels to carry out well intervention and other subsea activities. Industry sources told Upstream that the Brazilian oil giant has approached contractors and is in the market for an unspecified number of subsea equipment support vessels (SESVs) and multipurpose supply vessels (MPSVs). According to bidding documents seen by Upstream, it has split the tender into four lots: two for Brazilian-flagged vessels, which have priority under domestic contracting legislation; and two for foreign-flagged units.
