The influence on the human mind brought about by the recent acceleration of digitalization and major changes in social structures due to COVID-19 has become a problem that cannot be ignored. For this reason, there is demand for portable (mobile) diagnosis devices for brain measurement. Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. has developed a mobile magnetoencephalogra- phy (MEG) device for portable brain measurement. This is the only MEG system that combines a superconducting magnetic shield and a zero boil-off system. This MEG achieves magnetic shielding beyond the conventional shielding performance by saving space in the shield room and by using vaporized helium for superconducting shielding. This paper describes the equipment and experimental results obtained with the MEG system. The results provide evidence for the effectiveness of MEG with a superconducting magnetic shield and a zero-boil-off helium recovery system.
