LyondellBasell Proceeding with Engineering For Advanced Recycling Unit in Germany

Berlin-LyondellBasell has decided to move ahead with engineering to build an advanced recycling facility at its site in Wesseling, Germany (PCN, 17 Oct 2022, p 1). The 50,000-t/y commercial-scale advanced recycling plant, based on LyondellBasell's MoReTec technology, would convert pre-treated plastic waste into feedstock for new plastic production. A final investment decision is expected at the end of 2023, with start-up planned for the end of 2025.
