摘要

The paper experimentally studies the thermal explosion mode synthesis of composite powders from titanium, carbon black, and aluminum powder mixtures with addition of iron oxide. The results include the mathematical model of reaction initiation, which takes into consideration the main physicochemical phenomena leading to the evolution of the compacted sample phase composition. The typical thermal explosion synthesis thermographs were obtained for two Ti-C-Al-Fe2O3 reaction mixtures. The received products phase composition results and formation paths were discussed in line with the literature data. The numerically obtained phase composition and temperature dependences were compared with the experimental data. It was shown that the model corresponds to the experimental data qualitatively. The difference between theoretical and experimental data is due to the lack of initial modeling parameters and also to equilibrium theoretical conditions that are unattainable in experiments. The possibility to forecast the most preferable experimental conditions of composite formation appears to be the subject of further studies.
