摘要

Milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) is milk constituents comprised of a tri-layer of polar lipids, glycolipids, and proteins. Recently, several studies conducted on MFGM for enhancing the nutritional quality of infant nutrition. Infant nutrition formula supplemented with bovine MFGM have shown better results in neuro-development and defense against infections, it has also shown antiviral activity and reduction in the incidence of diarrhea. In addition, the presence of sphingomyelin, a phospholipid possesses health-promoting effects such as enhanced neuronal development in infants and preventing neonates from bacterial infections. The incorporation of lipid that is mimicked to human fat would represent a significant advance for the infant nutrition industry. MFGM supplemented infant formula offers quality nutrition to those infants that depend on infant formula.
